Todos sentados...

... no Festival para gente sentada em Santa Maria da Feira no passado fim de semana.

Infelizmente só assisti ao segundo dia porque o mau tempo do primeiro não me permitiu chegar a Santa Maria da Feira a tempo.

O concerto do segundo dia começou muito bem com a revelação (para mim) de Ed Harcourt. O verdadeiro homem dos 7 instrumentos e por vezes mais, deu um grande espectáculo.


Seguiu-se Sparklehorse, banda que eu esperava com grande ansiedade uma vez que sou fã há quase 10 anos. Foi opinião daqueles que não eram doidinhos pela banda, que o som não estava muito bom. Mas, pessoalmente, delirei com o concerto. Fica a set list, Mark Linkous e banda acompanhante, num concerto que será, para mim, memorável.

Na última sexta-feira...

...o Theatro Circo de Braga encheu-se para ver Antony and the Johnsons. Na plateia, para além das "irmãs" do cantor, de Adolfo Luxúria Canibal e de Old Jerusalem, estava também o "música concreta".

Foi um concerto-performance no qual Antony cantava e, em cada música, subia ao palco uma das ladies sentadas na fila da frente da plateia e posava, numa plataforma giratória, para uma câmara. As imagens eram tratadas em tempo real e transmitidas no ecrã do palco, tal como se pode ver nas fotos.

O reportório foi essencialmente composto por músicas novas o que pode ter deixado alguns fãs , que esperavam ver o artista cantar as músicas dos albuns Antony and the Johnsons e I am a bird now, com água na boca. De qualquer forma, numa primeira audição, as músicas novas não parecem ficar atrás das dos albuns anteriores. O próximo album promete.

Cat power a nova face da Chanel?

E agora, algo nunca visto no "musica concreta": mexericos! A história já é antiga mas tem a sua piada.

Parece que a nossa amiga Cat Power anda por aí a fazer parar o trânsito. A última vítima foi o estilista Karl Lagerfeld que, ao vê-la a fumar à porta de um hotel em Nova York, se dirigiu a ela e disse "Só uma mulher pode ser tão glamorosa a fumar". Pois a entrépida rapariga não se ficou. Tirou os óculos de sol, apontou para as olheiras e perguntou "com isto?". Quem estiver interessado pode ler toda a "notícia" aqui.

Tudo isto para dizer que para além do concerto em Lisboa no dia 4 de Dezembro, Cat Power actuará no Porto no dia 5 (cine-teatro Batalha).

Festival Radar

Stuart Staples, Lisa Germano, Yo La Tengo e Cat Power (na foto) são os nomes que compõem o cartaz do Festival Radar.

O evento realiza-se de 01 a 04 de Dezembro, em Lisboa, dividindo-se os espectáculos pela Aula Magna e o Santiago Alquimista.

Stuart Staples vem pela segunda vez este ano a Portugal. O vocalista dos Tindersticks dá, na Aula Magna, o primeiro concerto do evento e na bagagem traz o seu mais recente álbum, "Leaving Songs".

Lisa Germano vem também apresentar o seu novo trabalho, "In the Maybe World", que marca o regresso às composições em nome próprio.

"I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass" é o álbum que serve de pretexto ao espectáculo dos Yo La Tengo, no penúltimo dia do festival. Já Cat Power encerra a série de concertos, sob o mote do disco "The Greatest", editado no início deste ano.

Os bilhetes para estes concertos estão à venda nos CTT, agências ABEP e Alvalade, nas FNACs, loja Flur e através da ticketline.
